The next step in EPCS registration is the identity proofing process. Prescribers do not need to wait until they have received the hardware token to complete this step.
Before you Begin: Download the Twilio Authy app. This is a free mobile app for two-factor authentication that you will need to complete the EPCS registration process.
Before you Begin: Complete EPCS Registration Part 1: Verify Prescriber Information
- Navigate to the EPCS registration section of the Admin tab and click the Continue button. The Identity Proofing Section opens.
- The Prescriber Information that was entered previously displays.

- Click the Begin button. The Exostar Agreement opens.
- Click the I Agree button at the bottom of the Exostar Agreement page.
- Select your Country of Residence (United States is the only option).
- Click Submit.
- Enter an Alternate Phone (personal cell phone number) to help with identity verification.
- Enter Date of Birth and Social Security Number (last four digits).
- Click the I Agree button.
- Answer all questions in the Identity Verification Questionnaire.
- Questions are based on your personal credit profile.
- Click the Next button.
NOTE: Steps 11- 17 are instructions on how to bind your hardware token and/or Authy app. If you are unable to bind either the hardware token or Authy, please click Skip to Next until you are at the Register Your Phone screen (Step 18). It is REQUIRED to enter your phone number here so that you will be able to complete registration with Exostar. If you are unable to bind either the hardware token or Authy, you will need to go to the EPCS Device Management page in NewCrop to bind the hardware token and/or the Authy app so that your registration can be finalized in NewCrop. If you skip adding your number on the Register your Phone screen, you will be required to start the registration process from the beginning.
- If you have received the hardware token that was ordered during the first part of the registration process, enter the Hardware Token Serial Number and One-Time Passwords to register your hardware token. If you have not yet received your hardware token, leave these fields blank. You can add the hardware token to your account later.
- Click the button on the hardware token to get the first Password, which will be a six-digit code. Once the screen on the hardware token goes blank, click again for the second Password.
- Click Submit to register your hardware token, or click Skip to Next if you have not yet received the hardware token.
- After you click Submit, a message opens to confirm the hardware token successfully registered. Click Complete to proceed with mobile credential registration.
NOTE: Download the Authy App now if you haven't already.

- Enter your mobile Phone Number.
- Click Register Phone.
- Open the Authy App on your mobile phone. It will say: “Let’s Turn This Device Into a Secure Token".
- Enter your country code (tap the field to choose the United States), cell phone and email address on the app.
- Get a verification code via the text message option (SMS) and allow notifications.
- You will receive a one-time passcode via email. Enter this code in the Authy app.
- Once the phone displays the screen “Your NewCrop Token Is: xxxxxx” you will be ready to bind the app to your Exostar account.
- Bind the app using either the One Touch Approval or the manual entry of the OTP.
- If using one touch notification, go to the bell icon on your phone and approve the message “Approve me to bind your device”. Tap open and click “Approve”.
- If using manual entry, click the x icon. Enter the Soft OTP token (the 6 digits on your Authy app) and click Submit.
- If using one touch notification, go to the bell icon on your phone and approve the message “Approve me to bind your device”. Tap open and click “Approve”.
- Click Complete to confirm mobile credential registration.
- Enter a Phone Number two times to register it with Exostar.
- This is required to give the prescriber a way to access OTP methods outside of the Authy app and hardware token. Adding another phone number than the provider’s phone is recommended. Adding another person's phone number here does not allow that person to transmit prescriptions for controlled substances.
- Click Send Code.
- Enter the Verification Code you received on the phone you just registered.

Click Submit.

A message opens to confirm the phone was been successfully registered.
Click Complete to proceed. The system migrates from Exostar back to NewCrop. -
At this point, an administrator needs to log in to NewCrop to verify the provider's identity. The Provider Confirmation page indicates administrators who have this ability.
NOTE: If there are no users on this list, you can Establish EPCS Account Administrators using the Assign Account Administrators link on the Admin tab.
