Scenario: Lost internet/ PC failure and end user provided medication manually during downtime.
- Same day: If the dispenses can occur in the same day, complete all manually dispensed medication in the Medication Dispensing Screen (as the patient will still be listed).
- Liquid dispense: Flag “Override” and choose “No Pump – Liquid” on the Medication Dispensing Screen (lower left-hand corner) to ensure that you don’t send the command to the pump, resulting in more medication being dispensed. This will account for the dispense (provided to the client manually) and remove it from your inventory to ensure accurate reporting.
- Tablet dispense: Dispense as usual.
- Liquid dispense: Inform the client that If liquid first make decision whether they want to dispense through the pump or not
- Dispensing through Pump: Confirm that the COM port is correct, and finish filling in all required fields before dispensing (amount, type – mg/ml, dispense date, for date, reason selection, reason for/comments).
- NOT Dispensing through Pump: Flag “Override” and choose “No Pump – Liquid” from the drop-down to dispense manually.
- Tablet dispense: Complete all required fields before dispensing (amount, type – mg/ml, dispense date, for date, reason selection, reason for/comments).
