A hold can be placed or removed at either the Patient’s Chart Details or the Medication Dispensing Screen. Once a “Hold” has been placed, a user (usually a nurse) CANNOT dispense using the Medication Dispensing Screen window. Only the user who placed the hold or someone in the same User Access Level can remove the hold. Follow the steps below for the different processes associated with holds. All these steps can be performed from the Patient’s Chart Details and Medication Dispensing Screen.
