New Regulations
Two changes have been made to our password policy to ensure we continue to abide by HIPAA standards.
Effective June 18, 2018: When adding new users, we will be sending the temporary password directly to the new user’s unique provided email address.
This will safeguard that user’s credentials are kept private with that user.
Effective July 2, 2018: TenEleven will be enforcing a new password policy, which will require that every new password adhere to the following:
- 24 passwords will be remembered. This prohibits reuse of the same passwords.
- Maximum password age – 90 days
- Minimum password age - 1 day
- Password must meet complexity requirements.
- Can NOT contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters.
- Must be at least 12 characters in length.
- Must contain characters from 3 of the following 4categories:
- English uppercase characters (A through Z)
- English lowercase characters (a through z)
- Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
- Non-alphabetic characters (for example: !, $, #, %)
The updated complexity requirements are enforced when passwords are changed or created.
This policy will be enforced effective July 2, 2018 for all new user requests and for all password resets.
